Formation of the Human Bat Conflict Working Group (HBCWG)
Since 2002, the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation has been working with many stakeholders to address conflicts concerning the Mauritius Fruit Bat (also known as the Mauritian Flying Fox). Responses to the conflict have resulted in various research projects, several publications, a revised methodology of bat counts carried out by the National Parks and Conservation Service, and work carried out with an international expert in Human Wildlife Conflict.
